With a Kinect camera the facial expressions of the user are recorded. They are transfered on a 3D character’s head in Unity3D. The characters are modelled and textured in Zbrush with 3D-Scan references. In Maya they are rigged and skinned.
The user of the installation should feel like looking in the mirror. The performace presents the reflection of the facial expressions as a virtual illusion: Gradually the 3D character begins to move by itself.
